(Disneyland, 1959) An extremely rare signed letter by Walt Disney on Walt's personal letterhead. In this typed letter, Walt responds to Vlad Filko, Vice President of F&B Manufacturing Company in Chicago, regarding Disneyland. The letter was written three months before the large Summer 1959 Disneyland expansion debuted, which saw the addition of such iconic attractions as the Matterhorn Bobsleds, Skyway, and the Submarine Voyage. Walt writes about the coming attractions and adds, "We have many plans for Disneyland as the years go by and we intend that it shall be constantly changing and improving." Walt further expounds on the financial burdens of adding new attractions as well as maintaining the park's classic attractions, noting as an example that they already had $1,500,000 invested into the Jungle Cruise at that time. The letter is signed by Walt using his full name in blue ink. The letter comes from the collection of esteemed Disney historian and Walt Disney autograph expert, Phil Sears. Included with the autograph is a Phil Sears signed Certificate of Authenticity. The letter measures 10.5"x7.25" and is in very good condition with minor handling wear. Also included is the original mailing envelope, with Walt Disney's name and studio address printed on the reverse.
