(Disney, 1936) A very rare letter on studio stationery from Walt Disney Productions, written to Ken O'Brien in 1936. O'Brien had submitted samples of his artwork to Disney in response to a recent advertisement stating that the company was looking to hire new artists. This amazing letter is Walt Disney Productions' response to the artwork that O'Brien submitted. The letter begins, "We have for our consideration the samples you submitted in answer to our ad. These samples interest us very much." The letter goes on to request additional artwork from O'Brien in pencil and that he fill out an enclosed application. The letter is signed in the lower-right by George Drake of Walt Disney Productions. O'Brien would become a prolific Disney artist and animator, as well as a prominent Imagineer. This letter which shows the beginning of his career with Disney, is an amazing look into the history of Walt Disney Productions and animation as a whole. This item measures 11"x8.5" and is in very good condition, with faint fold-lines and some wear and discoloration around the edges, as expected with the letter's age.
