(Disney, 1982) An original concept painting for a woman's cast member outfit for "Thunder Mesa", a planned Frontierland area. "Thunder Mesa" was originally planned as a large mountain in Frontierland for the Magic Kingdom that would house the never-built "Western River Expedition" attraction. When Disneyland Paris opened in 1992, their Frontierland contained the fictitious town of "Thunder Mesa" in a nod to the original concept. This original painting is accomplished by artist Tom Peirce on thin artist's paper mounted to board. The back side of the artwork is dated 1982, but it is uncertain which of the Disney "Thunder Mesa" projects this artwork was used for. The painting measures 15"x11" and the condition is good with some adhesive-discoloration along the border.
