(SHAG, 2017) The original "Scoundrels and Skeletons," painting by SHAG, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean. This painting of the New Orleans Square attraction was originally sold at the 2017 D23 Expo, where the artwork was featured on a series of limited edition merchandise. Accomplished in acrylic on canvas and signed by the artist, this massive one-of-a-kind painting perfectly captures the iconic moments and adventurous spirit of the classic Disneyland attraction. Measuring 24.25" x 74.25" in a 31.5" x 81" custom frame, the artwork is in very good condition with spots of discoloration and scratches, notably on the ship. The frame exhibits light wear, and the matte has a scratch 4.5" long. Due to size, this item requires special shipping arrangements. Please inquire before bidding.

"When Disneyland commissioned me to create art and merchandise for the 50th anniversary of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, I was told that Disney’s legal department had prohibited the depiction of guns and swords in the artwork. I pushed back and told them that was outlandish, and I would be unable to create any artwork with those restrictions. Disney threw me a bone and allowed me to include swords in the painting. But I also included cannons. Aren’t cannons just really big guns?" - SHAG
