(Disneyland, 1955) The incredible pair of wooden doors originally installed on Disneyland City Hall during construction of the Main Street in 1955. Most of the buildings on Main Street U.S.A. were inspired by Walt Disney's childhood home of Marceline, Missouri, as well as Harper Goff's childhood home of Fort Collins, Colorado. However, the Main Street City Hall was of composite design, partially inspired by the classic Victorian architecture of the Bay County Courthouse in Bay City, Michigan. The building was finished with turn-of-the-century style trimmings, including this pair of heavy paneled wood and glass doors. Refinished several times while at Disneyland, the doors were replaced in the 1990s. During the rehabilitation, the original handles, glass panels, and metal trim were removed and used on the replacement doors. However, these historic doors remain unique artifacts that have welcomed countless Disneyland Guests through the decades. Measuring 79.75"x 30" each, the condition of the doors is good with expected wear from almost 40 years of use. The metal hardware and glass has been expertly recreated and the two doors have been mounted to a frame for stand-alone display but can easily be removed if desired. Due to size and weight, special shipping arrangements are required. Quotes are available through our third-party preferred freight company. Please inquire before bidding.
