(Disneyland, 1964-73) A kitchen table and pair of matching chair props that once decorated the fourth act stage in Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress. These historic props were first used within General Electric's first incarnation of the show at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair, then utilized in the Tomorrowland edition at Disneyland from 1967 to 1973. Each prop was custom built from Lucite and metal in the character of a projected 21st century home furnishing. In the World's Fair version, the table was decorated with a festive Christmas tree, while the Disneyland version was usually decorated with a floral arrangement. Amazingly, a small spot of adhesive residue can still be seen where these decorations were originally attached to the top of the table. The table measures 40" in diameter and stands 27" tall, and the chairs measure 23" from arm to arm and 32" tall and are in good used condition, with some surface scuffs throughout and some spots of discoloration to the cushions. There are a few cracks under the cushions where the seats connect to the stands. Artifacts from the original iteration of the Carousel of Progress are exceptionally rare, with pieces such as this that were in use for the entirety of the attraction being even more so. These props may require special shipping arrangements, please inquire for details and estimates.
