(Paramount, c.1977) An extremely rare printed concept design featuring original airbrushed enhancements for "Star Trek: Phase 2". Phase 2 was the never-realized follow-up television series to the original 1966-69 run of "Star Trek". While Phase 2 was never completed, the pilot episode for the series, "In Thy Image", was developed into what would become "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" in 1979. This enhanced artwork comes from the collection of Bill Wallen and represents an incredibly rare look into the development stages of Phase 2 prior to its cancelation. The printed photo depicts an incredible view of the Starship Enterprise, and the areas with the most noticeable original airbrushed enhancements are the glow around the title text, and the greyish enhancements underneath portions of the Enterprise. The artwork has a protective clear layer hinged over the top, which contains project notes and labels the project as a "rush" project that needed to be finished quickly. The artwork has an image size of 14.25"x18.5" on its 20"x24" board, and the condition us very fine with some wear to the edges of the board and to the protective cover.
