(Disneyland, 1954) An original and exceptionally rare section of the Sleeping Beauty Castle model created in 1954 by WED for the construction of Disneyland. This section is composed of hand-painted wood with small metal and glass applications, and depicts the shop section just inside the Castle walls which would open as the "Fantasy of Disneyland" shop, but would become "Tinker Bell Toy Shop", then "Once Upon a Time Princess Shop", and finally the "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique". The entire Sleeping Beauty Castle model has received a few refurbishments over the last 60 years, which kept the model more accurate to the appearance of the actual park and currently the model resides in the "Opera House" on Main Street. This section was removed during one of the model's refurbishments and comes from the estate of Imagineer Pat Burke. The model section measures approximately 8.5"x6" and is in fair to good condition with some moderate wear throughout from its original use and display, and subsequent removal from the model.
