(Disneyland, 1957) When Sleping Beauty’s Castle opened in 1955, the upper level was empty. Not satisfied with what Walt Disney considered a waste of space, he challenged his Imagineers to develop an attraction for it. Eyvind Earle, already working on the development of the “Sleeping Beauty” feature was approached to help design a series of Dioramas for a “Walk-Through” attraction. This 9 x 21 in. concept painting was one of Earle’s ideas for the attraction. Accomplished in acrylic on artists’ board, it features the view of the vigenette through a “window”, as was the theme of the walk-through. In very fine condition and signed by Earle at the lower right.
