(Disneyland, 1962/74) A collection of production materials used in the creation of an episode of The Magical World of Disney that showcased the famous Golden Horseshoe Revue stage show in Frontierland. The episode was later released as a theatrical short. The collection includes (8) original pencil drawings by artist Dean Tavoularis on Walt Disney Productions vellum stock and stamped with date “1962,” which depict layout, elevation, and architectural theater interiors. They range in size from 21”x29.5” to 30”x14”. Also included is: an original stage plan pencil drawing on 20.5”x20” vellum; an original venue plan drawing on 27”x 39” vellum; an original scenic flat drawing on 16” x 37.5” vellum; (7) stage proscenium elevation blue line prints hand-numbered in pencil "1," "3" (with a duplicate), "5," "7," "8," and "9," each measuring 19”x24”; a stage elevation photostat measuring 11”x14”; an original stage set plan drawing accomplished in pencil on a 13.25”x14.75” brown line print; and a 20.5”x29.5” theater brown line print by Dean Tavoularis. All pieces are folded with the majority in very good condition. Most pieces exhibit discoloration from age, while some bear soiling and handling creases from production use, bent corners, and marginal and fold line tears.
