(World's Fair/Disneyland, c.1963) An incredibly rare set of (13) black and white Imagineering reference photos used in the creation of Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress. To help determine the proper lighting and positioning of the animatronic characters, live actors were used and photographed as reference. These photos were taken in 1963 for the original version seen at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. Following the World's Fair, the attraction was moved to Disneyland, and later to Walt Disney World. These photos provide a fascinating look into this iconic attraction, and depict several live actors standing in place for the animatronics seen in the 1920s Second Act. Each photo measures approximately 10"x8" and the condition is fair with some handling wear, creases, small tears, and areas of discoloration from use. Many of the photos have original pencil reference numbers written on the reverse.
