(Disneyland, 1956-57) An extremely rare hand-signed Sam McKim concept drawing for a "Yellow Buffalo Tipi" from the Friendly Indian Village in Frontierland. The Rivers of America debuted with few show elements and continued this way until Disneyland's first expansion in 1956, adding Tom Sawyer Island and three Indian Villages along its shores. This original production artwork is accomplished in pencil and paint on animation paper and features details of the painted buffalo designs with notes regarding the cultural meaning behind each symbol. Measuring 16.75" x 13.75", the artwork has been dry mounted to artist’s board for preservation and is in very good condition with spots of discoloration, fading, and wear from age and handling.
