(Walt Disney World, 1971) A very rare unproduced prototype sculpture of a Jungle Cruise elephant that was created by the Randotti Company. Randotti famously created the tombstones, skulls, and other popular souvenirs from the early days of Disneyland. In 1971, shortly before the opening of Walt Disney World, Disney had Randotti develop a new line of Jungle Cruise figures to be sold once the Magic Kingdom opened. However, during production, the limbs and the trunks of the elephant figures would frequently break while being separated from their molds. It was decided that Randotti should focus their production on other, more easily produced, souvenirs for Walt Disney World. As such, very few of these figures were created and none were ever sold in the Disney Parks. The hand-painted ceramic figure has the Randotti product label on the base and measures 7.5" tall. The overall condition is good, with an expected break in the left-arm and some small chipping throughout.
