(Disneyland, c.1980s) A beautiful concept art print featuring rare imagery from "Project Little Man", Disney's precursor to audio-animatronics. In the early 1950s, Walt Disney instructed Imagineers Roger Broggie and Wathel Rogers to begin working on "Project Little Man", a 9-inch tall animatronic figure which could dance and talk. The techniques and principles learned from this project would provide the basis for Disneyland's use of audio-animatronics on such iconic attractions as "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" and the "Enchanted Tiki Room". This concept art print faithfully recreates the original concept art, and was likely used in a presentation or display on the history of audio-animatronics. This print came from the estate of Imagineer Wathel Rogers, and provides a seldom-seen look into the very beginnings of audio-animatronics. The print measures 22.25"x29" within its mat and is in very good condition with some minor wear to the mat from use. The back of the print has "Project Little Man" written in pencil.
