(Lee Mendleson Prod./CBS, 1965) An extremely rare and impressive panoramic production background with production cels from the classic 1965 TV Special "A Charlie Brown Christmas." The set-up features Charlie Brown as he emerges from the school auditorium detremined not to let commercialism ruin his christmas. The 9.5"x 36.75" hand-painted background appears at 22:05 thru 22:24 in the special. The cels also appear in that sequence and thru 23:02. "A Charlie Brown Christmas" was the first prime-time animated special based on the comic strip "Peanuts" by Charles Schulz. It debuted on CBS in 1965 and was run every year for the next 45 years on the network. In 2001 ABC acquired the special and it ran another 19 years on that network. The special has become a Holiday Tradition for many, and artwork from the original production is extremely rare. The piece has a viewable image size of 9.5"x36.75" within its 17"x44" frame with mat. The entire piece displays in fine condition.
