(Disneyland, c.1960s) A pair of "Shrunken Head of a Jivaro Native" souvenirs from Disneyland's Adventureland. Constructed of molded rubber, one head retains the original carding, which reads, "Shrunken Head of a Jivaro Native from the Land of the Amazon Actual Reproduction" on one side, and "It's good to have a man around the house" on the other. Also included is a vintage gelatin silver 8"x10" press photograph dated 1967 depicting Miss Italy pageant winner Gilda Guiffrida reacting in mock horror to a display of these shrunken heads at a Disneyland souvenir stand. The heads measure approximately 3"x2" and 2.75" deep and 3.25"x2" and 3.5" deep respectively. Both remain in very good condition. The carding exhibits some edge wear, spidering, and handling. The photo exhibits some surface spotting from the developing process and corner creasing.
