(Disney, c.1940s) A pair of ceramic figures of Ferdinand the Bull and his mother, from the short film Ferdinand the Bull. These styles of figures were originally manufactured by Brayton-Laguna, a noted California ceramics company which created a number of early Disney ceramics. However, in the years following Brayton-Laguna's run of the figures, other ceramics companies produced similar figures, occasionally even using the same original molds. These two figures are attributed to the 1940s, following Brayton-Laguna's original run. Ferdinand measures approximately 8.25"x8.5" and his mother measures 5.75"x10". Both are in good condition for their age, with a chip in Ferdinand's right horn, his back left leg, and his haunches. There are also some smaller chips to the paint throughout.
