(Disneyland, c.1960s-70s) A pair of horse bridles used by the trolley horses of Disneyland's Main Street, U.S.A. The horse-drawn trolley is a prominent feature of the Main Street's turn-of-the-century theme. Both leather bridles are ornamented with metal rivets and consist of a headpiece, headband with tab featuring a metal monogram D figure, throatlatch, cheek pieces with metal reinforced blinders adorned by monogram D figures, a nose band, and reins. Metal buckles hold the various straps together, and a screw protrudes from each of the bridles for purposes unknown. One bridle is composed of black leather, the other brown. Measuring approximately 23"x13.5" and 13" deep, the bridles are in good condition with moderate oxidation to the metal rivets, weathering, soiling, and wear from frequent outdoor use.
