(Esquire, c.1970) An original caricature by renowned illustrator Peter Green of British poet Robert Graves. A celebrated poet, historical novelist, and classicist, Graves' work such as his memoir "Good-Bye to All That" and his poetic essay "The White Goddess" have never been out of print. Green was commissioned by Esquire to create this caricature for an article on Graves' works. Accomplished in charcoal on a thin sheet of 18.75"x14" art paper, the drawing is mounted on a larger 24.5"x21.5" art board. The condition is very good with some edge wear, a bend in the top right corner, and some tape residue at the corners of the paper.
