(Disneyland, c.1956-62) An extremely rare original Winchester model 62A Gallery Gun .22 Short that was used in Disneyland's Main Street Shooting Gallery. This opening day attraction closed in 1962 when Walt Disney felt that the additional shooting galleries in Adventureland and Frontierland were a better fit for his park thematically. Based on the serial number, this particular rifle was manufactured in 1956. The rifle belonged to Disney Legend Milt Albright, who received it following the closure of the shooting gallery in 1962. A letter of provenance for the rifle is included on Milt's personal Walt Disney Studios stationery, and is written and signed by Milt's son Milton Brandon Albright, and also signed by Milt's wife June Albright. The rifle measures 39.5" long and is in good overall condition with expected wear throughout from park use. Full functionality has not been tested, however it appears to still be in good working order. Transfer of ownership will require a Federal Firearms License and background check through a local gun dealer in Los Angeles. Special shipping arrangements may apply. Please inquire for details and estimates.
