(Walt Disney Studios, 1968) An original gag drawing by one of Disney's Nine Old Men, Les Clark. Clark joined the studio in 1927, and this gag drawing was created for Clark's friend and story artist Otto Englander, who wrote the script for the live action film The Owl that Didn't Give a Hoot on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color. The gag drawing depicts the Owl pecking away at a typewriter to write the script for the film. The drawing is accomplished in ink on thin art paper which is adhered to a board backing. The back of the board has a typed note on Englander's personal Walt Disney Productions stationery that credits Clark as the artist. Measuring 9.75"x6.5", the drawing is in fair to good condition with some areas of discoloration from use and age.
