(Disney, 1970s) A rare Walt Disney Studios produced timing sheet for “Plane Crazy,” the very first Mickey Mouse cartoon produced. Ub Iwerks, the first artist to breathe life into Mickey Mouse, famously drew “Plane Crazy” in secret at a rate of up to 700 drawings a day. In the 1970s as Disney turned towards nostalgia of the early productions and pie-eyed Mickey design, timing sheets were generated for early shorts that had no such record surviving. These sheets meticulously catalog the characters and actions in each shot, along with their exact screen duration. This information was invaluable to nostalgia-facing projects such as 1972’s “The Mouse Factory,” and DTV music videos in the 1980s. Measuring 8.5" x 14", the four-page stapled timing sheets are in very good condition with very light wear from age, and faint creases to the top and bottom from light handling.
