(Disneyland, 1955) Tomorrowland was the last land to be developed, and with construction starting only 6 months before the opening of the park, Art Director Gabriel Scognamillo had his hands full. These (15) pages of correspondence between Scognamillo and U.S. Time as well as in-studio memos illustrate the speed at which the clock was designed and manufactured. The Clock of The World became the centerpiece at the entrance to Tomorrowland. The letters, dated between March and June of 1955, talk about placement, logos, design, materials and construction. In-house memos with the merchandising department deal with the manufacture of a functioning model of the clock to be sold in the park...something that did not come to fruition. An extraordinary look into the development of Tomorrowland. All pages are in very good condition with some wear and staining.
