(Disneyland, 1969) This official Disneyland Main Street, U.S.A. security jacket was issued in 1969 to retiring Anaheim Chief of Police, Mark Stephenson by Disneyland’s then Vice-President Dick Nunis to honor his service and to celebrate “Mark Stephenson Day” at Disneyland. Stephenson became Anaheim’s police chief in 1946 and was instrumental in keeping his department in pace with the development of Disneyland and the manpower needed to keep the surrounding area safe; something that Disney was well aware of and very grateful for. The Jacket has a unique metal thread embroidered shield emblazoned with the “Tinkerbell-D” emblem and “Security Honorary Chief”. The embroidered shield is designed in such a way that it can be removed and replaced with the metal Disneyland security shield. Created in the Disneyland costume department, the custom tailoring also includes a black velour collar and gold striping on the sleeves. The Keystone Cop style hat has a custom gold band and a gold “Tinkerbell-D” emblem. Jacket is 42 regular. Shirt is a men's large. hat is size 7 3/8". In fine condition overall. A very unique Disneyland costume.
