(Disneyland, 1955-56) A hand-painted drumhead used by the Circus Band of the Mickey Mouse Club Circus at Disneyland. The drumhead split during a performance and was quickly repaired and painted by Roy Williams, until a replacement could be ordered. The reverse has a hand-written note reading: "replace with plastic - $32.00" and the names of the clown band at Disneyland. The names include Dick Winslow, George Landier, Eddie Stoll, and George DeRubeis. The item measures approximately 26" in diameter, and displays in good to fair condition, despite some wear, spots of discoloration, and painted tape in the center which has lifted slightly from the drum. Artifacts from the Mickey Mouse Club Circus are extremely rare and this drumhead represents an important part of Disneyland history.
