(Disneyland, 1955-1956) A wonderful grouping of memorabilia from the short-lived Mickey Mouse Club Circus. The attraction opened in November of 1955 and was a showcase for the newly formed Mickey Mouse Club (the TV show had premiered a month earlier). Featuring the Mouseketeers and a variety of circus-style acts, the show was not as popular as the other unique attractions in the park, and closed before the end of the year in 1956. Included in this lot is a rare 5.5”x8.5” gate flyer for the attraction (good condition with center crease), an original 1956 admission ticket to the attraction (fine condition), a 1955 souvenir program (good condition with vertical crease), and a fascinating hand-written letter (1955) from Dick Doud, a clown performing in the show, describing the less-than-exciting day-to-day activities (and nighttime activities!) associated with the show. A fantastic grouping of memorabilia.
