(AccuCraft, 2001) A limited edition 1/24 scale brass model of the Lilly Belle with tender, Walt Disney's personal steam engine for his backyard Carolwood Pacific Railroad, manufactured by AccuCraft Trains. The model was designed using the 1949 blueprints from which the original was constructed and was released in honor of Walt's 100th birthday. Features include a detailed cab interior, operating windows, a boiler with fittings, domes, pipes, handrails, steel drive rods, valve gear, cross heads, accurate replica livery and lettering, and a Pittman DC gearhead motor. Walt numbered his Lilly Belle 173, after the engine on which it was based, the Central Pacific 173. As a tribute, this model was also released in an edition of 173. The COA for this example is numbered 88/173. The model is presented on a metal track segment mounted to a wooden display base with a clear acrylic cover. The original box for the engine is present. The set is accompanied by a handwritten note from Diane Disney Miller on her Art Deco-style monogram stationery card reading, "Dear Richard - Thanks so much! And Merry Christmas. Diane Disney Miller." The original envelope is included, on which Disney Miller has handwritten the recipient's address. The card measures 3.75"x5.25" and is in fine condition. The Lilly Belle and tender measure 29" long and are in fine condition with minimal wear. The display case is 10"x37" and 7" deep and exhibits minor corner scuffing.
