(Disneyland, 1956/61) An extremely rare and unusual hand-silkscreened poster for the "Astrojets" attraction that reads "Jet" along the top. The "Astrojets" attraction opened in 1956, and this poster, designed by Bjorn Aronson, is the same version that was made during the attraction's opening. However, in 1961, American Air Lines came out with a new "Astrojet" airliner, and it is believed that at that time, Disney removed the name from their attraction's signage in order to avoid unintentional affiliation. Rather than create an entirely new poster, the word "Astrojet" was simply silkscreened over with the word "Jet". The "Astrojet" lettering can still be seen faintly when looking at the reverse of this poster. This is an extremely rare variant of an already very rare poster, and it is one of only a few examples we have ever seen. Measures 54"x36". This item is in good condition with some edge-wear throughout, including some worn-paint on the right-edge. The word "Tomorrowland" has broken color throughout.
