(Goff, 1958) A pair of rough draft reports titled, "Experience of an Art Director in Norway, Denmark, England, France, and Germany While Preparing and Shooting 'The Vikings'" from the collection of Harper Goff. These pages describe Goff's experiences while location scouting and procuring the Viking boats needed for the film, while he was serving as the production designer on the feature. The first two pages are from a rough draft, while the latter three pages appear to be from a later draft. Measuring 11" x 8.5", the drafts are in fair to good condition with typical edge wear from age and use, including some creasing and small tears. The first two pages are loose, with a torn section on the upper left corner of the second page. Disneyland. Artist Harper Goff’s fingerprints are all over pop culture’s history. Goff first met Walt Disney in London when the two collectors tried to buy the same train set. The Disney Legend would go on to design the Nautilus, create concepts for Main Street, U.S.A., and even play banjo in the popular Firehouse Five Plus Two, a band consisting of Goff and his fellow Disney artists. Goff’s talents were appreciated throughout Hollywood, as he worked for many different studios over the years. We are proud to have some of his wonderful designs up for auction.
