(Disneyland, c.1950s) A collection of (12) extremely rare original black-and-white photos from the Pony Farm at Disneyland. In 1950, Disney Legend Harper Goff saw Dolly and Owen Pope showing horses at the Pan Pacific Auditorium in Los Angeles and told Walt that he should meet them. The meeting was a success, and the Pony Farm was established, first at the Studio and then later at Disneyland. The Popes lived on the property and took care of Disney's menagerie of horses, donkeys, and mules. It was Pope that would design and build the leather tack used by horses in the park. Each of the photos measure 8”x10”, and the set is in very good condition. The photos come from the estate of Gary Fravel who helped design many of the publications used at Disney University, such as the park's training manuals. Two of the photos have vellum covers with notes and it is likely these photos were used for in various publications.
