(World's Fair, c.1964) An extremely rare model of the Progressland Pavilion from the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. Disney developed the Carousel of Progress as the highlight of General Electric's pavilion at the World's Fair, and the popular attraction would later be brought to Tomorrowland in Disneyland from 1967-73. The model depicts the pavilion and was created by Disney in partnership with Richard Rush Studios. Only 14 of these models were created, and are believed to have been given to executives within General Electric for display and promotion of their new pavilion. The model measures 26"x28" and 10" tall and comes with its plexiglass cover. The condition is fair to good, with signs of yellowing from age and some staining. A repair has been made to the GE spire. The model's lights still function with a beautiful rotating glow from the top. This item will require special shipping arrangements. Please inquire before bidding.
