(Disney, 1940) An extremely rare set of four miniature maquettes produced in the Model Department at the Disney Studio during the production of "Fantasia." In order to get a better idea of how to choreograph and light the "Dance Of The Hours" sequence, the model department built a miniature stage and populated it with these miniature figures. The model and figures assisted animators in recreating lighting as it would appear on a real stage. Hand-painted with painstaking detail, the figures range between 2.25" and 3" tall. Most were attached to a metal base, however these four have larger plaster bases and were more likely used to highlight specific scenes. All four are in very good condition with light wear and soiling. Ben Ali-gator has some small chips in his paint. An incredibly rare set and a fascinating part of Disney Studio Animation history.
