(Emerson, c.1934) An extremely rare cream colored Mickey Mouse radio created by Emerson Radio and Television Co. In the 1930s this radio came in two colors: black, and cream with green accents, with the latter being much more scarce. Triangular aluminum pieces attached at the front corners feature different character images including Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. The bottom center has a triangular attachment that reads "Emerson Radio And Television" along with the Walt Disney copyright. The images as well as the text on these attachments are much clearer than typically seen. There is an area of faint staining on the Pluto image. The die-cut aluminum grill plate depicts Mickey Mouse playing an upright bass over the original fabric speaker cover. The serial number plate is still attached to back of radio. The radio tubes are complete and the original coiled antenna wire and fabric-covered electric cord are present, but the radio will need servicing to operate. It is missing the majority of rubber covering on the feet on the underside. The two plastic knobs are original. The body has scattered paint wear but the radio remains structurally sound and has only moderate corner tip wear. There is a small split to the wood at the top screw on the back panel. Measuring 7.25"x7.25" and 5.5" deep, the radio's overall condition is very good.
