(D. Gottlieb & Co., 1975) An original El Dorado pinball machine manufactured by D. Gottlieb & Company. Featuring backglass, playfield, and cabinet artwork by Gordon Morrison, the wonderful Western-themed machine was the source design for a number of different machines released in the late 1970s. The playfield features four flippers, two pop bumpers, two slingshots, a bank of ten drop targets, a bank of 5 drop targets, two stand-up targets, and retains the original instruction cards on the half-moon credit window. The backbox contains a ball tracker dial and a five digit analog reel counter that registers scores up to 99,999. Both the backbox and cabinet are marked with the serial number, "05974." The coin box and corresponding key are present, as is the backbox key. The machine is accompanied by original wiring maps. When plugged in, the lighting elements in the backbox illuminate, however, the cabinet does not appear to be powered. Evaluation by a service technician is recommended. Measuring 69.25" tall, 26" wide, and 53.5" long, the piece is in good condition. The cabinet exhibits scratches, chips, scuffs, and abrasions throughout with some wear to edges. There are a few scratches to the playfield glass, crazing to the playfield artwork, and some wear to the metal legs and trim.
