(Paramount, 1949) A signed Edith Head costume drawing dated September 26, 1949 for Paramount Pictures' 1951 film, A Place in the Sun starring Elizabeth Taylor. Edith Head was one of Hollywood's leading costume designers for both Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures. Notably, Edith contributed to the costume design of Alfred Hitchcock's cinematic productions, in addition to television productions like Bewitched and Columbo, winning a total of eight Academy Awards in her lifetime. The mixed media composition of pencils, watercolor, and inks was created for Elizabeth Taylor's role of Angela Vickers. With an image size of 12.5"x5.25" within a 24.25"x15.25" frame, the piece displays in fine condition, retaining Edith Head's signature on the front and an approval stamp on the reverse signed by director George Stevens.
