(Walt Disney Studios, 1994) A cement block containing the handprints and signature of animator Ed Love. During the Great Depression, Love read in the local paper of a job opening as a Disney cartoonist. He was able to find a local animator and learned how to animate in four months, before going to the Walt Disney Studios for an unscheduled appointment with Walt. Walt hired Love on the spot, and he went on to animate Mickey, Donald, and Pluto in several shorts, and also worked on Fantasia. Later, Love worked for other studios, including MGM, Walter Lantz, and Hanna Barbera. Dated 1994, the cement measures approximately 18"x27" and 3" deep. The condition is good overall with minor surface wear from previous display, including a crack through the top-left corner. These cement hand prints and signature serve as a reminder of Love's contributions to the Golden Age of animation.
