(Disneyland, c.1990s) A vintage Disneyland Railroad spike used in operation of the line, framed and released as a limited edition with a photograph of Engine No. 4 Ernest S. Marsh. Originally built as a saddle tanker, the Ernest S. Marsh was purchased in 1954 by Walt Disney Productions. It was rebuilt from an outline prepared by Ward Kimball and entered service at Disneyland in July of 1959. The steel railroad spike measures 5" long and exhibits moderate oxidation with some surface flaking from decades of outdoor service. It retains a Disneyland Disneyana Shop COA and is presented in a mat which is hand edition numbered "9/125." The frame measures 14.25"x11.5" and exhibits some rust residue sprinkled throughout the mat and some minor external surface wear.
