(Disneyland, c.1990s) A vintage Disneyland Railroad spike used in operation of the line, framed and released as a limited edition with a photograph of Engine No. 3 Fred Gurley. Created for a Louisiana railroad that hauled sugar, the Fred Gurley was retired from industrial use in 1950 and purchased by Walt Disney Productions. After being rebuilt, the engine entered service at Disneyland in March of 1958. The steel railroad spike measures 5" long and exhibits the expected oxidation and patina from decades of outdoor service. It retains a Disneyland Disneyana Shop COA and is presented in a mat which is hand edition numbered "9/125." The frame measures 14.25"x11.5" and exhibits only minor wear.
