(Disneyland, c.1960s-80s) An extremely rare candlestick phone that was used in Walt Disney's apartment above the Fire Station in Disneyland's Town Square. This phone was installed in Walt's apartment from the late 1960s until the early 1980s, when it was replaced by a more modern phone. This phone can be seen being used by Walt himself in a series of well-known photos, and the vintage printed phone number within the rotary dial is a long-time Disneyland phone number. The black handset and ear piece have been replaced from their original white versions, as seen in the photos with Walt. The phone comes from the collection of Bob Penfield of Disneyland's Construction Services, who was a cast member since the park's opening year in 1955 and a well-regarded member of Disneyland's Club 55. The phone comes with a signed and notarized California Jurat with Affiant Statement from Penfield certifying the phone was used within Walt's apartment. Measuring 11.5" tall, the phone is in very good condition with minor surface wear. This is an incredibly artifact of Disneyland history that was personally used by Walt Disney himself.
