(Disneyland, 1963) Impressive technical rendering of the Monorail by Disney Imagineering. According to Gurr, this sketch was done as the company was looking to expand capacity for the Monorail and also propose a fifth attraction at the New York World’s Fair. Disney was hoping to acquire the “Monorail rights” to the fair and proposed this expanded capacity three car Monorail train. Eventually the contract went to another company and Disney rather than expand the number of cars on his current monorail, just added another two-car train; “Monorail Yellow”. Accomplished in graphite on 9 x 11.5 in. onion skin and hand-signed by Gurr. Framed size is 12.5 x 14.5 in. In fine condition. Unexamined out of frame.
