(Revell, 1963) A vintage Revell model kit of the Beatnik Bandit hotrod designed by legendary car customizer and visual artist, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. This particular kit once belonged to Roth himself, and now comes from the personal collection of his son, Darryl Roth. One of the era's most iconic designs, the Bandit is instantly recognizable for its unique body style, exposed "blown" Oldsmobile V8 engine, and bubble canopy. Rather than a steering wheel or pedals, velocity and direction were controlled by a joy stick. In addition to a Revell model, the Beatnik Bandit also inspired a Hot Wheels car in their inaugural line. This 1/25 scale model kit consists of pieces in both white and chrome-colored plastic, rubber wheels, and a sheet of transfer decals. Many of the model elements are attached to the plastic runners as issued, though no warranty of completeness is made. The original instruction manual is included, and the set is housed in the original paper box measuring 6.25"x9.5" and 3.25" tall. The box is in good condition, exhibiting wear along all edges with some surface loss. Model pieces appear clean and as-new.
