(WED/Disneyland, 1954) An original conceptual drawing for the "Peter Pan Fly Through" by Disney Legend Herbert Ryman. This original concept artwork was created in 1954, and depicts the attraction's medieval-themed entrance, complete with banners and bunting, within the Castle Courtyard. Contemporary Guests of Disneyland Resort may be familiar with this historic piece, which has been honored through framed prints on display throughout the Disneyland Hotel. A few of those rare prints have occasionally come to auction through Van Eaton Galleries in the past. This original mixed media composition has been accomplished in pen and ink with colored pencil. It is featured on page 157 of the biographical "A Brush with Disney - An Artist's Journey" by Bruce Gordon & David Mumford (Camphor Tree Publishers,2000) . The artwork was on display at the Disneyland Gallery in late 2000. This iconic piece has an image size of 14.75"x11.75" and has been matted for display within a 21.25"x17.5" frame. It is in fine condition, exhibiting faint creases, expected fading to colors from age, and pinholes from the original production display.
