(Congoleum, 1930s) An early 1930s store display sign created for a premium offer by Congoleum Gold Seal Rugs. This promotion offered free Mickey Mouse autographed photos to children who brought their parents to the participating Congoleum store. The sign is printed on board with a built-in folding stand on the reverse. The promotional Mickey photo with printed autograph is adhered to the sign as an example, and an additional loose version of the Mickey photo is also included. This sign is a fantastic example of the initial Mickey Mouse promotions that would help fund the studio in its early years. Measuring 14" x 24", the sign is in good condition overall with some edge wear and areas of discoloration from use, as well as a small tear to the adhered Mickey photo. The separate Mickey photo measures 12" x 9".
