(Martin Mull, 1978) A drawing of a flying chair on fire, by comic actor and musician Martin Mull. In the 1990s and 2000s, Mull gained attention in the art world for his photorealist and pop-style oil paintings. This pencil drawing represents an early work by Mull. Dated October 13, 1978 and dedicated to a friend “David” on the 26th, this fine-lined pencil drawing suggests the influence of pop artists and works of the time such as Peter Max and “Yellow Submarine.” Measuring 8.5” x 12.5” in a 16.5” x 19.5” matte, the drawing is in very good condition with light creases and waviness.
