(Jolson, 1921) A card autographed by Al Jolson. Famed for his appearance in the first synchronized sound film "The Jazz Singer." When Helen Hull Monnette was born in 1920, her father Orra Eugene Monnette wanted to do something special for his young daughter. Orra sent cards bearing Helen’s name to people of note from that time period, asking them to sign the cards and send them back in the provided return envelope. Jolsen signed this card on April 8th, 1921. Known for billing himself as "the World's Greatest Entertainer," he shows uncharacteristic humility on this piece writing "Some call me an actor." Measuring 2.25" x 3.5", the card displays in very good condition with light color shift from age, and some paper loss and creasing to the plain back only, from previously being glued in an album.
