(WED, 1961) Soon after the opening of his Monorail system Disneyland, Walt attempted to interest the Los Angeles government into investing in a Disney designed monorail system for city. Only proposed informally, the city did not take Walt up on the offer and with the World’s Fair project taking up most of his attention, he dropped the proposal. Alweg, the German manufacturer of the Monorail’s conveyance patent and partial sponsor at Disneyland, picked up the ball where Walt left off. This 1961 illustrated proposal was published to make a more formal pitch to the city government. (38) pages filled with fascinating info and concept art. Measuring 11.5 x 9 in. and in very good condition.
