(Disney, 1951) An original concept painting for"Walt Disney's Alice in Wonderland" attributed to Walt Disney Studios color stylist Mary Blair. A decade after beginning her employment with the Studio, Mary Blair's cutting-edge arrangements of color palette distinguished her work. This led to memorable contributions toward the production of Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and multiple short films. This key scene concept depicts the grinning Cheshire Cat atop a branch in the Tulgey Wood and has been accomplished in gouache on artist's board. The piece has a painted image size of 8.25"x7" on its 9"x7.75" artist's board. It is in very good condition, exhibiting minor scuffs and surface wear to the board from handling and age.
