(Western Costume Co., 1950s-1970s) A robe worn by French actor Louis Jourdan. Jourdan made his American debut in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Paradine Case,” starred in the Best Picture-winning “Gigi,” and was the villain in the James Bond film “Octopussy.” The elegant burnt orange and gold robe was worn by Jourdan most likely on set or in his dressing room. The Western Costume Co. label features the inventory number 39-2570-1, his name, and a chest size of 38. The robe is in fair condition with tears including a 13” tear on the ride side, fraying, wear, and discoloration from age.
