(Disney, 1957) An amazing one-of-a-kind drawing of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, signed by Walt Disney and over a dozen Disney legends. In 1957, animation pioneer Ub Iwerks suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Animator Bill Justice drew this Get Well piece, and it was signed by Walt Disney, Roy O. Disney, and nearly 150 total Disney Studio Cast Members. Included are at least fifteen early Disney Legends: Roy E. Disney, Norm “Fergy” Ferguson, Bill Cottrell, Harriet Burns, Don DaGradi, Card Walker, Roger Broggie, Winston “Hib” Hibler, John Hench, X. Atencio, Peter Ellenshaw, Ben Sharpsteen, Bill Peet, Don Iwerks, Fred Joerger, Wathel Rogers, and of course Bill Justice who signed his artwork. Other notable signatures include Frank Reilly who managed Disney Comic Strips for 29 years, and Ub’s loyal assistant Eustace Lycett who went on to win Academy Awards for visual effects in both “Mary Poppins” and “Bedknobs and Broomsticks.” With an image size of 11” x 7.5” on 13” x 10.75” paper, the artwork is in fine condition with slight color shift from age. The full matte board signed piece measures 17.5” x 19” and is in very good condition, with light wear mainly to the edges.
