(Disney, 1955) A letter from Walt Disney to Ralph Hammeras upon “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” winning the Academy Award for Special Effects. Hammeras was the Director of Special Effects & Cinematography on the film, and Walt thanks him for his contribution and invites him to come by his office to see and touch the Oscar statuette. The letter is hand-signed in ink with simply “Walt.” The 7.25” x 10.5” letter and the 4” x 7.5” envelope it came in are adhered to an 8.25” x 15.75” scrapbook page and display in very good condition. Also included are two scrapbook pages with newspaper clippings and Variety ads about the 1954 Academy Awards and a congratulatory telegram, all in good condition with wear from age.
